MontClair, sitting just at the Liberty - Kansas City line, is poised to take advantage of the small town environment of Liberty and the many amenities of a first class city like Kansas City.

Liberty was founded in 1822 and is one of the oldest cities in Missouri. It began as a trading post and has blossomed into a thriving center of commerce and cultural activities. The fast growing business community combined with quiet neighborhoods, makes the Liberty area a great place to raise a family and an ideal location for any business. The existing housing market and values remain strong within a wide range of homes, from antebellum homes in the historic district to modern subdivisions with numerous amenities.

Area residents enjoy quick access to the many diverse Kansas City attractions including the Country Club Plaza shopping district, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun theme parks, sports teams including the Chiefs, Royals, Wizards, Attack, Blades, and the newly renovated Kansas City Zoo.

MontClair is served by the Liberty School District, recognized by educators as one of the best in the nation. The district includes six elementary buildings, three secondary buildings, a pre-school and a school for the behaviorally disabled students. Both Liberty junior high and high school have been expanded and a new elementary school is scheduled to open fall 2000.

The Liberty School District carries the highest classification awarded by the State Department of Education and the senior high is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.

In addition to the Liberty Public School District, the area also features a high quality parochial school, St. James, which is attended by students from throughout the metro area.

Founded in 1849, nearby William Jewell College offers higher education opportunities with a nationally recognized undergraduate liberal arts curriculum. Two of the distinctive awards include U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges" list and the Top 100 "Best Buys" by Money Magazine.
